About this Blog

I've moved! You can now find me at ellemm, my very own domain where I will be writing about not only the garden but our burgeoning farm, our home renovations, the wildlife around us, and more!

2012 was a pretty big deal for me. After years of mediocre luck keeping houseplants alive, I planted a huge garden with every vegetable I remotely felt like eating. Most things grew, a few things died, but I learned a lot and absolutely loved having fresh vegetables that I produced myself. I was amazed that I could really grow edible food that looked like it was supposed to... without being defeated by bugs and the weather!

This year my mission is to do even better. Not only will I provide my family with fresh vegetables, I plan to truck the excess into town for a farm market or two. Even if all I have is a bushel of cherry tomatoes for a single Saturday morning... that'll be a success for me. I try to be realistic. :)

So I invite you to come along on this midwest adventure. Leave your comments with questions, answers, suggestions, etc. Enjoy the many photos to come. And thank you for visiting!
